We can’t say we’d ever thought of beavers as being particularly cuddly before seeing YouTube user misstdawg‘s video, which stars two juvenile beavers misstdawg cared for as a wildlife rehabilitator.

But cuddly and personable these two certainly seem to be -- especially, if we may play favorites, Teela, the young beaver shown here enjoying a good scratch. (Teela’s sibling, shown nibbling on a branch, is named Yoshi.)

Fun fact: Giant beavers -- and we do mean giant -- roamed North America during the Pleistocene epoch. These creatures measured up to 8 feet in length and could grow to weigh more than 200 pounds, a size roughly equal with a modern black bear!
