Two young coatis, Rosalie (above) and her brother Jasper, were born in Germany’s Hannover Adventure Zoo in late April. Since then, they’ve been confined to an indoor area -- until today, when they were permitted to venture outside for the first time.

Coatis are relatives of raccoons and are sometimes referred to as ‘hog-nosed raccoons.’ Their long snouts are very flexible and can be rotated up to 60 degrees in any direction.
