Local rescue group the Bark Avenue Foundation and K-9 Connection, a group that pairs at-risk teens with shelter dogs as they learn the basics of obedience, will join forces at an adoption event this Saturday in Malibu.

Adoptable dogs (including obedience-trained graduates of the K-9 Connection’s program) and cats will be out in force at the Malibu Country Mart from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Among them? Priscilla (right), a spayed one-year-old Shiba Inu-chihuahua mix found wandering the streets of East L.A. ‘Priscilla has a heart of gold, a compassionate nature, and has been dubbed ‘the cuddle bug’ by everyone at Bark Avenue,’ says Bark Avenue’s Erin Ek.
