A four-legged activist opposes pet stores

It looks like animal activists aren’t the only ones cheering the Beverly Center’s decision to terminate the Pet Love pet store’s lease at the end of January -- the animals are getting in on it as well. This lovable lug was among the crowd gathered at the Best Friends Animal Society‘s press conference last week, where the split between the store and its landlord was announced.

The announcement came after six months of protests at the Beverly Center by Best Friends, the Times’ Carla Hall reported.

Folks like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears are said to be devotees of the store. So where will they get their teacup chihuahuas now? May we recommend a needy dog or two or three?
