A pair of cliff swallows bring food to hatchlings that are hidden in the mud nest beneath a bridge on North River Road in Oceanside.

Best known for their storied return to Mission San Juan Capistrano each spring, the birds migrate north from South America.

This colony is above a drainage canal, providing the mud for nest building and plenty of insects for food.
