Facebook claimant Paul Ceglia seeks Mark Zuckerberg sanctions

Paul Ceglia, who claims he’s entitled to half of Mark Zuckerberg’s multibillion-dollar stake in Facebook, has alleged that Zuckerberg deleted emails and has asked a judge for sanctions.

Zuckerberg deleted emails from his Harvard account that involved their partnership dispute, Ceglia alleged in a filing Tuesday in federal court in Buffalo, N.Y.

Ceglia claims he and Zuckerberg signed a contract in 2003 and exchanged emails in 2003 and 2004 that acknowledged their partnership in Facebook. Facebook disputes the authenticity of the contract and the emails.

In an emailed statement, Facebook’s lawyer Orin Snyder said: ‘These filings by Ceglia and his latest new lawyer are truly delusional. These are the desperate act of a man whose fraudulent lawsuit has now been fully exposed.’

Ceglia’s lead counsel, Dean Boland, an Ohio lawyer who focuses on digital technology and ran into legal trouble himself in working on a child pornography case, is the fourth lawyer to hold that spot since Ceglia filed the lawsuit against Facebook.
