The iPad 2 seems to be making a drawn-out debut as it churns through the rumor mill. But now, Apple watchers are claiming to have seen the physical product.

Mac repair company iFix Your i wrote on its blog that the second-generation Apple tablet would have a slightly thinner LCD screen –- a difference of about a millimeter. The post also features photos of what the company claims is an iPad 2 sent from China.

If it is the real deal, the product will have a lighter display and a slightly different cable connector but the same resolution as its predecessor, the repair company concluded.

“Honestly, we were hoping to be blown away, but we’re not … ” the company said in the post.

Reuters, meanwhile, is claiming that a staffer saw a working model of the next iPad at the debut Wednesday of the Daily, a new digital publication from News Corp. In its report, Reuters said that the device had a front-facing camera at the top edge of a glass screen.

The iPad 2, expected to hit the spotlight in the next few months, follows the original tablet, which was released in April and sold nearly 15 million units by the end of the year. Competitors are now scrambling to release their own tablets.
