Google launches wedding site

It might have trouble forcing Cousin Betty to catch the bouquet, but the new Google for Weddings site can do nearly everything else for soon-to-be-married couples.

The site consolidates several Google offerings, allowing brides and grooms to create a website through Google Sites, edit photos through Picnik, collaborate with the bridal party on guest lists and set up a photo album with Picasa.

There are more than 20 wedding templates that can help track the event budget, collect addresses for invitations and compare vendors, the Internet company said.

And for lovebirds getting hitched in the next year, Google is holding a $25,000 sweepstakes and free consultation with celebrity wedding planner Michelle Rago.
