Google debuts Recipe View search function for cooks

Trying to make vegetable biryani with cauliflower in less than an hour? Google says it can help with its new Recipe View search function.
The new tab in the left-hand panel allows users to trawl the entire Web looking specifically for recipes with search terms ranging from broad terms such as “chocolate” to specific events such as “St. Patrick’s Day” to favorite chefs.
In the past, such searches would pull up a smorgasbord of results, with recipes buried deep in the mix.
But Recipe View, available for now in just the U.S. and Japan, will show clearly marked ratings, ingredients and pictures and let users narrow results by ingredient, cooking time and calorie count.
Looks like the Internet giant is trying to carve some space in the cooking space currently crowded with sites such as Epicurious, All Recipes, Food Network and recent newcomer Foodily.
