Consumer Electronics Show: A phone so smart, it can grill

When you think grilling, is your iPhone the first thing to come to mind? Maybe as a timer or to look up the best marinade. How about for a thermometer?
Not usually. Well, iGrill showed off at the Consumer Electronics Show its new iPod/iPhone/iPad-connected thermometer to help you really become the grill master you think you are.
It’s a Bluetooth-enabled thermometer that you drop into the meat and tracks the temperature, has a built-in timer, lets you look up recipes and gives you an approximate time for dinnertime. You can attach up to two probes, so no more overcooking those chops just because one family member like them medium well.
The iGrill thermometer comes with one probe and costs $100. It comes in white (available now) and black (available at the end of the month). The second probe costs $20.
You’ve got to love the company tag line: ‘Enjoy time with family and friends without compromising the quality of your cuisine.’
