Facebook gives users one-time passwords to use when they are on the go

Facebook rolled out new security features Tuesday, including the ability to request a one-time password for use on public computers.

The feature, which is being introduced gradually and should be available to everyone in coming weeks, allows you to text ‘otp’ to 32665 from a mobile phone associated with your account to get a password to use on a public computer, such as at a library or Internet café. The password expires after 20 minutes. The measure helps protect people from keylogging programs or malware.

Facebook also introduced a feature that lets you see all the active sessions on your account and to log out remotely. Facebook additionally said it would routinely ask you to update account information such as your phone number and the security question that helps prove your identity should you not be able to access your account.
