Clothing as cellphone charger? Nanofiber technology might do the trick

Here’s a technology that could get folks hot under the collar: Nanofibers that within a few years may be ready to be woven into fabric as tiny, electricity-producing generators. The fibers would pick up energy from body movements such as bending, stretching and twisting.

But the microscopic strands still have a ways to go before showing up attached to your shirt, according to the UC Berkeley research team working on the project.
