DeAndre Jordan was at the Clippers practice facility a day after the team matched the Golden State Warriors’ $43.2-million, four-year deal.

‘Whatever team I was on, I was going to bring whatever I did last year to that team -- and I’m happy it’s this team,’ he said.

Last season, the 6-foot-11 center averaged 7.1 points and 7.2 rebounds. The Clippers had said they intended to retain Jordan and they made good on their word Monday.

When Blake Griffin was asked how happy he was that the Clippers kept his close friend, he joked, ‘We had a fall out this summer.

‘Obviously I was talking to him throughout this whole process. For me, it was more of a friendship thing, I wanted to see him get what he deserves and I think he did and he thinks he did too.’

For the most part, the mood at the team’s media day was jovial. Unlike with the Lakers, the failed Chris Paul deal seemed as though it did not greatly affect the team’s morale.

The Clippers front office declined to talk about the Paul deal and said that it was moving forward with the team it currently has.

Griffin expressed confidence in that decision.

‘If it doesn’t work out [with Paul] then everyone on this team knows we’re ready to roll with this team,’ Griffin said.

Chauncey Billups, whom the Clippers won in a waiving bid, was not at the team’s media day but is expected to arrive tomorrow. Billups was waived by the New York Knicks under the NBA’s one-time amnesty provision.
