USC football: Marshall Jones could start at safety vs. Colorado

USC, which will be without safety T.J. McDonald for the first half of Friday night’s game at Colorado, also might be missing starting safety Jawanza Starling.

Starling did not practice Wednesday because of an unspecified injury, opening the door for senior Marshall Jones.

Jones started the last four games last season.

On Monday, McDonald was suspended by the Pacific 12 Conference for an illegal hit on Stanford receiver Chris Owusu last week. Junior Drew McAllister will start in his place.
