Sounds like second-team All-American Juron Criner will be back with the Arizona Wildcats this fall. Arizona Coach Mike Stoops said the uncertainties of Criner’s status this summer can be traced to some personal issues with Criner’s mother’s health.

“Juron just had some personal and family issues with his mother that he had to attend to and spend some time in Texas with his mother who has been very ill,” Stoops said.

“Juron has worked hard ... I haven’t seen him, I can’t, but I know he’s been working out with the team, our guys.”

In his junior season, the All-Pac-10 receiver racked up 1,233 yards and 11 touchdowns, leading a wide receiving corps Stoops expects quarterback Nick Foles to enjoy.

“I think when you see the size, the speed, the different types of receivers we’re going to be able to put on the field ... it gives us an ability to spread the field,” Stoops said. “We have players, and a quarterback, that can do that.”
