Hollywood Gold Cup winner First Dude is retired after injury

First Dude, the winner of the Hollywood Gold Cup on July 9, has been retired from racing after a tendon injury was discovered, the Daily Racing Form reported on Monday.

‘It showed up about a week after the race,’ trainer Bob Baffert said.

First Dude, a 4-year-old son of Stephen Got Even, had $1.4 million in earnings.
