WNBA: Sheryl Swoopes to return to the WNBA

Sheryl Swoopes, three-time WNBA most valuable player, will sign a deal with the Tulsa Shock, Coach and General Manager Nolan Richardson confirmed Monday. The Shock went 6-28 last season.

Swoopes, 40, has spent the last few years playing overseas. She last played in the WNBA in 2008 for the Seattle Storm.

She averaged 15.8 points and five rebounds in her 11-season WNBA career, which began in 1997.
