Kings practice report: Oscar Moller joins team

Oscar Moller took part in Wednesday’s team practice session after being recalled from Ontario of the ECHL on an emergency basis.

Moller, who was called up to replace the injured Justin Williams, was excited for the opportunity to join the Kings for their playoff push.

‘I’m playing with some great players and, obviously, I’m going to try to bring my ‘A’ game,’ Moller said. ‘It’s a really important time of year for this hockey club. ... it’s a great opportunity for me to prove myself.’

Moller, who briefly played for the Kings earlier this season, will play right wing alongside Anze Kopitar and Dustin Penner and will likely see time on the power play Thursday when the Kings play host to the San Jose Sharks.

Kings Coach Terry Murray says the club has been impressed with his play in Manchester and feels this is the chance Moller needs to prove he can be an everyday NHL player.

‘His time is now,’ Murray said. ‘He’s three years in ... this is a time where we are watching him very closely as an organization.’

In other news, Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi was named to the U.S. Men’s National Team Advisory Group for the upcoming 2011 IIHF Men’s World Championship.
