Alberto Contador gets one-year suspension for failed doping test

The Spanish cycling federation has suspended Tour de France champion Alberto Contador for one year over his failed doping test in the 2010 race, the newspaper El Pais reported Wednesday.

The Spaniard was informed of the decision by the federation’s competition committee and has 10 days to appeal it before a final decision is made, the paper said without identifying the source of its information.
