The website Stadium Journey, which publishes reviews of pro and college sports stadiums, recently posted its review of Pauley Pavilion, giving the 45-year-old structure 3.3 out of 5 stars.

Reviewer Drew Cieszynski gave the arena props for atmosphere, neighborhood and fans. He must have not been there for the final seconds of the Bruins’ 74-73 escape against UC Irvine on Thursday.

Pauley Pavilion did not score as well when it came to access, food and beverage and return on investment.

‘To pay roughly $50 for a seat that may be obstructed in a rather antiquated arena is a bit of a stretch with all of the other entertainment options in Los Angeles,’ Cieszynski wrote.

Given that Pauley is undergoing major renovations that are scheduled to be completed before the 2012-13 season, the review will need updating in the not-so-distant future.
