Posey hit several key home runs to help the Giants win their first World Series since 1954. After starting the season at Triple-A, he made quite an impact in the big leagues, hitting .305 with 18 home runs (including eight after Sept. 1), 67 RBIs and a 21-game hitting streak.

Picked first on 20 of 32 ballots, Posey easily beat out second-place Atlanta outfielder Jason Heyward.

Feliz set a rookie record with 40 saves. He received 20 out of 28 first-place votes to finish well ahead of Detroit center fielder Austin Jackson.

Two members of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America in each league city voted on the awards after the regular season.
