Galaxy midfielder David Beckham says it’s unlikely he will play on loan in Europe again this season as he continues to recover from a torn Achilles’ tendon that sidelined him for nearly six months.

In an interview posted on FIFA.com, says he is focusing on his fitness and doesn’t think he’ll be playing in Europe once the MLS season closes.

“Physically I need to get myself back in order after a very long time out of the game,” Beckham said. “I can’t say for sure [about playing on loan], but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.”

Beckham, who tore his Achilles’ tendon while playing on loan with AC Milan in March, returned to the Galaxy lineup against the Columbus Crew on Sept. 11. After making two substitute appearances, he played the full 90 minutes against the New York Red Bulls last week.
