Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg says he has no advice to offer the team’s top draft pick, catcher Bryce Harper, who has until midnight Monday to come to a deal with the team.

But after Sunday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Strasburg -- who closed his deal with the Nationals two minutes before the deadline last year -- did offer a pretty strong statement concerning the No. 1 overall pick in June’s amateur draft.

‘I don’t have any advice [for him],’ said Strasburg, who shares an agent, Scott Boras, with Harper.

‘If he wants to play here, he’s going to play here. He doesn’t need advice from anyone to confirm his views. If he doesn’t want to play here, then we don’t want him here.’
