Angels infielder Brandon Wood, whose offensive struggles cost him the starting third-base job in July, will play for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League. The season runs from Oct. 12 to Nov. 20, with teams playing six days a week.

Wood, who lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., wanted to play winter ball in Latin America in hopes of getting enough at-bats to regain his stroke and confidence, but he is getting married in early December and wanted to remain close to home.
