With former Arizona ace Dan Haren scheduled to make his first start for the Angels on Monday night against the Boston Red Sox, the Angels announced a few transactions:

- Haren, who the Angels acquired Sunday for left-hander Joe Saunders, two minor league pitchers and a player to be named later, has been activated to the 25-man roster. Monday night, he’ll likely wear No. 24 instead of the No. 15 jersey he wore in Arizona out of respect for Angels’ great Tim Salmon, the franchise’s career home-run leader.

- Right-handed reliever Michael Kohn was recalled to help bolster the Angels’ bullpen. Kohn, drafted by the Angels in the 13th round of the 2008 MLB June Amateur Draft, has a 1.95 earned-run average in 26 games for triple-A Salt Lake this season.
