The Angels have promoted one of their top prospects, outfielder Mike Trout, from Class-A Cedar Rapids (Iowa) to Class-A Rancho Cucamonga of the more-competitive California League.

Trout, who participated in Sunday’s Futures Game in Angel Stadium, led the Midwest League with a .362 average, 45 stolen bases, 113 hits, 76 runs and a .454 on-base percentage in 81 games for Cedar Rapids. A first-round pick in 2009, Trout also led the team with 19 doubles, 46 walks and six home runs.
