MLB announces finalists for ‘All-Stars Among Us’ campaign

Major League Baseball announced the 90 finalists for the ‘All-Stars Among Us’ campaign, supported by People magazine to recognize individuals serving their community in extraordinary ways.

The finalists were selected from thousands of online nominations by fans across the U.S. and Canada.

The Dodgers finalists are Zaid Gayle, Zachary Kidd and Alma Martinez. The Angels finalists are Danny Mendoza, Tim Evans and Ruthe Rosen.

Fans can go online to vote for the ‘All-Stars Among Us’ now through June 20. Brief biographies of all the nominees are available by clicking on the teams’ icons.

Thirty “All-Stars,” one representing each MLB club, will attend and be honored during All-Star week in Anaheim. One of the winners also will be featured in People magazine. The Angels are hosting this year’s game, set for July 13.
