Former UCLA basketball coach John Wooden was “resting comfortably” at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, according to a UCLA news release Friday morning.

Wooden, 99, was admitted to the hospital Wednesday due to dehydration, according to the release. UCLA sources, who are not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, said Wooden is in grave condition.

A UCLA athletic official said that at the Wooden family’s request, the university would not comment further. An update on his condition was expected this afternoon.
