UCLA beats USC in college baseball

UCLA got three hits from Blair Dunlap and two hits apiece from Tyler Rahmatulla, Beau Amaral, Justin Uribe and Brett Krill to come away with a 13-7 victory over visiting USC on Friday night in a Pacific 10 Conference baseball game.

USC’s Ricky Oropesa, a first baseman who leads the Pac-10 in home runs, hit his 14th home run and finished four for five.

UCLA began the weekend tied for second place in the Pac-10 with Stanford. The Bruins improved to 35-11 overall and 11-8 in conference. USC dropped to 23-26 and 5-14. The two schools play the second game of their three-game series Saturday at 2 p.m. at UCLA’s Jackie Robinson Stadium.
