The Angels, looking for some pitching help, have called up pitcher Trevor Bell. To make room on the roster, the club sent infielder Robb Quinlan down to Salt Lake, Mike DiGiovanna reports.

Bell has pitched well for the Salt Lake Bees, the Angels triple-A affiliate. He is 1-0 with an earned-run average of 2.04 in 17.2 innings pitched. In 2009, the hard-throwing right-hander was 1-2 for the Angels in eight games with a bloated 9.74 ERA in 20.1 innings.

Quinlan, 33, is a .281 career hitter across seven seasons with the Angels but has seen little action so far this season. Stay tuned to latimes.com/sports for more.
