For the Kings, a little relief went a long way with Jonathan Bernier in net for the last two games -- both victories. On Friday, the 21-year-old goaltender was reassigned to the Manchester Monarchs of American Hockey League, and Jonathan Quick, who has played more than 4,041 minutes this season, will return to his usual spot for Saturday’s game against the Ducks. In three games with the Kings this season, the former first-round draft pick has a perfect 3-0-0 record with a 1.30 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage. During the Kings-Nashville game on March 30, he posted his first career shutout as he became the youngest goalie in Kings history to post a shutout.

Bernier on Thursday morning was named to the AHL’s first team All-Star squad and by the end of the night had earned his third win as the Kings trounced the Vancouver Canucks 8-3. In 56 games with the Monarchs, he has a 29-20-6 record, a 2.07 goals-against average, a .936 save percentage and eight shutouts.
