Michelle Wie shoots a 67 to tie for the lead in the Kia Classic

Michelle Wie shot a five-under 67 Friday in the second round of the Kia Classic and was tied for the lead with a two-day total of five under when she completed her round at La Costa Resort and Spa.

Half the players were still on the course, including first-round leader Na On Min, who made a bogey on her first hole to drop into a tie with Wie and four others.

Wie, who began the day with consecutive birdies, had six birdies and one bogey during the round.

Ai Miyazato, aiming to make history with a third consecutive victory to begin the LPGA season, shot 72 in the second round for a two-day total of two over. She was one shot inside of the cut line when she finished.

No. 1 Lorena Ochoa was even through seven holes of her second round and was in a tie for 11th place at two under.
