So what happens when you get on John Daly‘s bad side?

A reporter found out Tuesday after disclosing details from Daly’s PGA Tour disciplinary file in an article that appeared in the Florida Times-Union.

Daly described writer Garry Smits as a ‘jerk’ on Twitter, telling his followers to ‘CALL & FLOOD his line & let’s tell him how WE feel.’ Daly then tweeted Smits’ cellphone number.

Smits told the Associated Press he received nearly 100 calls and 30 messages by Wednesday afternoon. He said most of the callers hung up.

‘His fans are very unhappy,’ Smits said.

Daly also posted two other tweets criticizing the story.

‘Over the haters -- To me, this isn’t journalism, it’s paparazzi-like gossip. Please try harder to find some REAL news next time Gary.’

He then tweeted, ‘Gnight ALL but here’s GARY SMITS cell number in case you didn’t get it. ... non sports writer.’

Daly pulled the tweets off his Twitter page Wednesday morning. The PGA Tour said it would not comment on Daly’s messages.
