It’s a good thing that defenseman Alec Martinez’s flight back to Manchester, N.H., didn’t leave until today.

Martinez, assigned to Manchester of the American Hockey League on Saturday, was recalled by the Kings today. Davis Drewiske, who has a shoulder injury, was placed on injured reserve.

Defenseman Matt Greene, who was involved in a third-period fight on Saturday and didn’t return after his five-minute fighting penalty expired, didn’t skate today. However, a Kings spokesman said it wasn’t clear whether Greene was merely taking a therapy day or had injuries stemming from his fight with the St. Louis Blues’ B.J. Crombeen.

Kings Coach Terry Murray held long meetings with players after practice and wasn’t immediately available for comment.
