First-round leader Shane Bertsch is finished with Round 2 at the Bob Hope Classic golf tournament. He’s in at 13-under par (three-under 69 today on the Palmer course). But Bubba Watson is 15-under with three holes left to play and Alex Prough is at 14-under with two holes left.

Bertsch said that conditions on the course were good. ‘It was real scoreable,’ he said. ‘The course played longer than normal, but besides that I took one casual water drop all day, on the last hole. You could find an area within one club length usually.’

And Bertsch said he felt sorry for the amateurs and celebrities who were held out of the tournament. ‘I feel bad for them but then putting them back in [Saturday], I was really glad to hear that. I saw some of my partners from the first day.... They said it was just today, so I was really happy for that.’
