Report: Tiger Woods’ mother-in-law hospitalized, released

Tiger Woods’ mother-in-law was taken to the hospital from Woods’ home very early this morning and is being treated for a stomach condition. The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Barbro Holmberg was treated at Health Central Hospital in Orange County, Fla. Update: Holmberg has been released from the hospital.

Woods was also treated there after his Cadillac Escalade ran into a fire hydrant and tree early on Nov. 27.

The paper reported earlier that her condition was not serious and she was being held at the hospital for tests.

Holmberg, a Swedish politician and mother of Elin Nordegren Woods, has been staying at Woods’ home after arriving in this country recently, the paper said.

According to WESH-TV, the log showed the patient initially refused transport but was later listed as an advanced-life-support patient. WESH-TV showed footage of a woman being taken on a stretcher into the hospital.

The news comes a day after reports that a Florida trooper who suspected Woods was driving under the influence sought a subpoena for the golfer’s blood results from the hospital he was taken to after crashing his SUV, but prosecutors rejected the petition for insufficient information.

It also comes a day after reports that Woods’ wife had moved out of the house.

Woods’ attorney, Mark NeJame, didn’t return a phone call for comment.
