UCLA football: Linebacker Eric Kendricks commits to Bruins

November 3, 2009 |  7:42 am
Eric Kendricks, a linebacker from Fresno Hoover High School, said he will attend UCLA next season.

Kendrick, 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, plays outside linebacker at Hoover. He is ranked 57th overall at his position by Rivals.com.

“I just like the area and the college,” Kendricks said. “Plus it is close to my home.”

Kendrick said UCLA coaches would leave him at linebacker, meaning he will likely have to add weight.

“They said they need me next year, but I would have to compete for playing time,” Kendricks said. “That’s a given.”

Kendricks’ brother, Mychal, is a linebacker at California.
