Yankees catcher Jorge Posada, who has been part of six teams that reached the World Series, says this year’s squad is better than the one in 2003, the last time the Yankees won the American League pennant.

‘I think this team is a little deeper,’ Posada said in Spanish. ‘We have a little more pitching than we had in 2003. The bullpen is really good. In 2003 we had a good bullpen, but not like now.’

That 2003 team, it should be remembered, lost the World Series to the Florida Marlins in six games. The Yankees last won the World Series in 2000.
