USC took advantage of San Jose State and Oklahoma’s loss to move up to No. 3 in Tuesday’s Associated Press college football Top 25 poll.

Florida and Texas remained in the top two spots, although No. 4 Alabama took two first-place votes from the Gators as a reward for the Crimson Tide’s win over No.7 Virginia Tech in Atlanta.
