USC did not come away unscathed from its 27-6 victory over Washington State on Saturday night.

Defensive tackle Hebron Fangupo suffered a broken left ankle in the second quarter while assisting on a tackle of Cougars running back Dwight Tardy for a two-yard loss. Jordan Campbell, making his first start at weak-side linebacker, had a team-best eight tackles before leaving the game after suffering an ankle sprain.

Garrett Green only made one tackle — and it was costly one.

Green dropped Marcus Richmond with a hard hit on the opening kick-off. A few minutes later, the usually sure-handed Green mishandled a snap on a failed extra-point attempt.

There was a good reason.

Green said he suffered a concussion on the tackle on the kick-off. He was removed from the game after trainers recognized he was out of sorts on the extra-point try.

“It was great snap,” Green said. “It definitely hit my hands. I’ll have to do some film work to figure out exactly what happened.”
