It was about this time last year when more than 500 people showed up outside Pauley Pavilion at UCLA to dribble basketballs across campus and raise $75,000 for research and treatment of pediatric cancer.

Given the success of that fundraiser, the Bruins will hold the ‘Dribble for the Cure II’ on Nov. 1. The event has been spearheaded by John Vallely, a cancer survivor who started at guard for John Wooden’s national championship teams in 1969 and ’70. He has teamed up with the UCLA athletic department, the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA.

After the dribble-walk, participants -- who are asked to bring their own basketball -- have an opportunity to meet the UCLA men’s basketball team.

For information and registration, visit the event website or call (949) 859-6312 or (800) 354-7273.
