There are nine undefeated teams in the NFL, which two will be the last to lose a game? Reporters from the Tribune family tackle today’s question of the day, then you get a chance to chime in and tell them why they are wrong.

The real question is, who will be the last Manning standing? Because by the time we’re heading into Week 7, the only remaining undefeated teams will be Eli’s Giants and Peyton’s Colts. The 49ers will lose at the Vikings on Sunday, and these other 2-0 teams will lose in Week 4: Broncos (vs. Cowboys), Ravens (at Patriots), Jets (at Saints), and Vikings (Packers). The Falcons will either lose at San Francisco in Week 5, or at home against the Bears in Week 6. New Orleans will keep its record unblemished until the Giants come to town in Week 6. So that leaves the Colts, whose upcoming schedule is: at Arizona, Seattle, at Tennessee, bye; and the Giants, who play Tampa Bay, at Kansas City, Oakland, and at New Orleans.

Denver has no quarterback. They’re out. Indianapolis and New Orleans don’t have a defense. They’re out. Minnesota, Atlanta, San Francisco and the New York Jets play in a division with problems. They’re all out. That leaves Baltimore and the New York Giants. They’ll be the last teams standing. Each has balanced offenses and defenses, stellar quarterbacks and good upcoming schedules. In the next three weeks, the Giants have a cakewalk at Kansas City, at Tampa Bay and Oakland. Baltimore plays Cleveland at struggling New England and Cincinnati. That puts each at 5-0. That should leave the other behind. And that should be good enough to put them on the radar of the ‘72 Dolphins.

Andre D. Williams, The Morning Call

Baltimore and Indianapolis will be the last two teams standing.

Ray Lewis will not allow the Ravens’ defense to be pinballed every week. He proved it with his ferocious pressure on San Diego’s Phillip Rivers that clinched Baltimore’s road win on Sunday. Hard to believe, however, that the Ravens ‘D’ is surrendering 25 points and 331 yards per game.

But that won’t continue. Lewis won’t allow it. Meanwhile, Joe Flacco & Company are ripping apart other defenses. It’s a dominating combination that will enable Baltimore to continue winning, including Oct. 4 at New England.

The Colts, led by Peyton “Mr. Clutch” Manning, will win their next two games with ease before a grueling test at Tennessee, but who thinks Kerry Collins will outduel Manning? Forget about it.
Meanwhile, somehow and someway New Orleans will lose. Big chance for T.O. and the Bills on Sunday. Interesting.

Ken Murray, Baltimore Sun

No chance some team will go unbeaten this season, but two might make it to November with perfect records. If the Colts can survive a trip to Arizona on Sunday, they have a pretty good shot of being 8-0 when they meet the Patriots at home on Nov. 15. Playing the Cardinals in Arizona with five days rest after a Monday night comeback in Miami is a challenge even for Peyton Manning.

The other club that could ride a winning streak into November is the Saints. It’s conceivable New Orleans could be 10-0 when it plays the Patriots on Monday night, Nov. 30, at home. The Saints’ two toughest games before then – against the Jets and Giants – and both at home, either of which they could lose.

At least three 2-0 teams – Jets, Falcons, 49ers – could lose this week.
