Say it ain’t so, Ichiro! Tossed from a game?

For the first time in his illustrious career -- and if he isn’t a first-ballot Hall of Famer, I don’t know who is -- Ichiro Suzuki was ejected from a game. The perennial All-Star outfielder for the Seattle Mariners was given the early sendoff after arguing a third-strike call. Not only is this the first time he’s been ejected while playing for Seattle, but he never got tossed during his time with the Orix Blue Wave of the Pacific League in Japan.

And you don’t think Ichiro is a first-ballot Hall of Famer? Never linked to performance-enhancing drugs, he’s only had 200 or more hits the last nine seasons, including a record 262 in a single season. He’s batting .353 this season and has a lifetime .333 average since arriving in Seattle in 2001. Not going to mention his gaudy Pacific League stats, but do remember he has won eight Gold Glove Awards with the Mariners.
