Tuesday’s poll: Dodgers get Thome, Garland. Good news or bad?

Just before the deadline to have players eligible for the playoff roster, the Dodgers acquired first baseman Jim Thome from the Chicago White Sox and pitcher Jon Garland from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Garland will go into the starting rotation, but how Thome fits into the lineup remains to be seen.
