USC quarterback Aaron Corp apparently wasn’t too nervous about the MRI exam on his left knee this morning.

The sophomore napped during the procedure.

‘Those things take awhile,’ said Corp, who is expected to learn the results this afternoon.

Corp has some experience with the MRI machine: As a preteen he experienced severe headaches and was examined to rule out a brain tumor.

‘That was a little more uncomfortable than this,’ he said. ‘You really had to hold your head still.’

Corp suffered a knee injury Monday when a defensive lineman rolled into his leg. He watched freshman Matt Barkley take first-team snaps Tuesday.

Doctors have indicated to Corp that he did not suffer ligament damage, but his knee remains sore and he probably will not practice today when the Trojans don full pads for the first time.

Coach Pete Carroll said that regardless of the MRI results, ‘it could be a couple days, it could be longer’ before Corp returns.

‘I’ll be back when I feel I can go, which is hopefully soon,’ Corp said.
