Injuries abound at L.A. Women’s Tennis Championships

There were some automatic advancements today at the L.A. Women’s Tennis Championships at the Home Depot Center.

In singles play, Na Li of China pulled out due to a right knee injury. She was supposed to compete against Urszula Radwanska of Poland, who will now advance to the semifinals.

In doubles play, Italian player Francesca Schiavone removed herself from the competition due to a right hamstring strain. The doubles team of Monica Niculescu from Romania and local player Vania King from Long Beach, will move on to the doubles semifinals.
