Less than a week after her car exploded at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa., Ashley Force Hood was testing and preparing for the National Hot Rod Assn. U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, which begin on Sept. 2.

Force Hood is in third place in the NHRA funny car standings. Her teammate, Robert Hight, is the only driver from John Force Racing sitting outside the top 10 in the funny car standings. The top 10 drivers in the funny car standings will qualify for the Countdown to One, the NHRA playoffs, which begin after the races in Indianapolis.
