You know how the media is never wrong, so USC fans should rejoice: The Trojans have been picked to win the Pacific 10 Conference in football, receiving 28 of the 32 votes from West Coast media members who regularly cover the league.

USC is the seven-time defending Pac-10 champion. The media wasn't so positive about UCLA's chances. The Bruins were picked to finish seventh.

The media poll has correctly selected the conference champion in 26 of 48 previous polls.

California came in second, Oregon third, Oregon State fourth, Arizona State fifth, Stanford sixth, Arizona eighth, Washington ninth and Washington State 10th.

The 10 Pac-10 coaches are scheduled to speak today at Pac-10 media day in Los Angeles.
