For the Sparks, there is no place like home.

After losing to the Seattle Storm in Seattle on Friday by two points, the Sparks came roaring back at Staples Center, where they easily defeated the Storm, 82-55.

The Sparks managed to neutralize Storm center Lauren Jackson, holding her to nine points (three for 10 from the field, one for four from three-point range), well below her average of23.4 points per game. And they did it without Lisa Leslie (knee injury) and Candace Parker (maternity leave).

The victory kept the Sparks undefeated at home, even though they are still under .500 with a 3-5 record.

Best of all, I expect Kathy Goodman, co-owner of the Sparks, may well come through with another post to the Fab Forum off tonight’s game. (She agreed to try blogging for us during a weak moment.)

Even if you don’t follow the WNBA, treat yourself and read her post off Friday’s night’s game. She had me laughing, I can tell you that. And look for Mark Medina’s game story later tonight at latimes.com/sports.
