Nuggets roughing up Lakers in NBA Raw

Even in Denver, the Nuggets are being called the Nuggoons and the Thuggets. You might not think that’s a good thing in basketball, but, with the series even at 2-2, Denver Post columnist Woody Paige approves.

‘Lakers coach Phil Jackson accused the Nuggets of ‘unsportsmanlike conduct’ afterward,’’ Paige wrote. ‘Whew, them’s fighting words.

‘Two-two, and no tutus in the Western Conference finals.’

He’s right. What we’re seeing is certainly not balletic. Eighty-four free throws into the game, it wasn’t all that interesting either.
